Our March alumni all found inspiration at University, albeit in very different ways. From the physical streets of Edinburgh, to motivational lecturers and finding love at Teviot, student life offered it all.

Karen Hinton will be forever thankful to the local schools outreach programme which helped her to apply to University and saw her expand her horizons, introduced her to her husband and helped her to gain confidence.

I remember knowing that if I went into the library café, I’d definitely find someone I knew. I loved the camaraderie of the social science computing lab in the basement of AFB, especially when we were doing our dissertations.

Peter Paterson-Brown’s medical degree flew by in a whirlwind of inspiring teaching, cricket tours, Saturday dances, and daily lunches at the Union.

Our social life revolved round the Union. This was a male only establishment except for every Saturday evening when a very well attended dance was held and girls were extremely welcome.
