Name Will Searle Degree Course Biological Sciences Year of Graduation 2007 Image Your time at the University I chose Edinburgh as it was the best place to study Biological Sciences in Scotland. I had such a phenomenal time in the city that I made it my home once I graduated. From the social scene, the societies and the incredible surroundings, coming to the University of Edinburgh was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Tell us about your Experiences since leaving the University When I graduated I started working for some Edinburgh councillors running election campaigns. This, and my current job doing marketing for a Deaf charity were borne out of my time in the Universities theatre societies. I had a great time producing and marketing shows and whether it was marketing election campaigns, Fringe shows or the work I do for Deaf Action. This was a career path discovered at the University. This year (2013) I am producing a Fringe show called You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. It’s being put on by a student company and I met the director and musical director whilst performing in a Fringe show last year. The show is based on the Peanuts cartoon and is full of fantastic songs, 8 year olds who question the futility of life whilst on the swings and, everybody’s favourite pooch, Snoopy. We have a fantastic student cast who, and I’m not casting aspersions, excel at playing small children! I had such a phenomenal time in the city that I made it my home once I graduated. Will Searle Alumni wisdom Appreciate the city! There are so many places I only discovered once I’d left Uni. You can travel the Water of Leith, you can tramp the Pentlands and you can find the most amazing wee bars and restaurants all across the city. Explore, explore, explore!
