My family were overseas and I was finishing boarding school in Moffat when I was accepted into philosophy and linguistics. While a student, I volunteered for Rag Week and joined the ski club. I met a Canadian post-grad business student (Ian McGregor), fell in love, and shortened my course to a 3-year general degree. My first job interview in Canada was with a manufacturing firm; a job for which I had no experience.
