Your time at the University

My time at Edinburgh University was amazing! During the second year of my B.A. in France I was given the opportunity to apply for a place on the Erasmus exchange program.

I chose Scotland because I've always rooted for the underdog and Edinburgh because of its high standards, prestige and location.

My favourite memories include partying at all the pubs and clubs on Cowgate and, oddly enough, working as a chambermaid in a hotel.

Tell us about your Experiences since leaving the University

After graduating, I moved back to France and embarked on a M.A. Once again I applied for an international exchange program and was selected to study for a year at the University of Queensland in Australia.

The freedom, support and intellectual stimulation are rarely found in other contexts.

After a first-class MSc by Research, I decided my academic profile was good enough to try and come back to Edinburgh to undertake a PhD in English Literature.

Edinburgh contributed to the development of my knowledge and skills, but it also influenced me in a deeper way, much more so than any of the other 4 higher education institutions I have attended.

Alumni wisdom

As both an alumna and a current student, I would tell people to cherish their time at university. The freedom, support and intellectual stimulation are rarely found in other contexts.
