Venues

Teviot

Teviot is the oldest purpose-built student union in the world. First opened in 1889 and reopened in 2026 following sensitive restorations. This iconic building is home to two popular bars, Union Social and the Library Bar, the Gallery Café and plenty of other flexible and charming spaces for casual use or private hire. 

Potterrow

Bathed in light from its overhead clear dome; Potterrow is a quieter space during the day, offering access to a coffee shop, Baristo and a convenience shop, Potter shop. By night it transforms into a popular events and entertainment venue hosting a range of special events open to the public and available for hosting. 

The Pleasance

A hub of student-led activity, public spaces include the Pleasance Café, a spacious area serving a range of hot and cold drinks and quick bites. In the evening, the Cabaret Bar offers a full programme of live entertainment throughout the year. The venue is also home to a 300-seat theatre with varied performances open to the public.

King’s Buildings House

Inside, you’ll find the Mayfield common room serving hot lunches during term time and the Tempo coffee shop for convenient takeaway.

Wee Red Bar

Based at ECA this intimate venue hosts a packed programme of live music, club nights, films and other live entertainment.
