WiFi access on campus

The University WiFi network allows you to connect your computer, or other internet enabled device (e.g. smartphone, tablet or eReader), to the University network and access the internet via one of our WiFi access points. These access points are spread right across the University campus and include the King’s Buildings campus and Easter Bush.

Register for WiFi access

To access university WiFi you must first register to use the WiFi network.

MyEd login details

To register you will need your MyEd Alumni Portal login details. If you studied at the University after 2003 then you will be familiar with MyEd and you can use your existing username and password.

If you did not use MyEd as a student then you will need to set up a new account.

How to set up a new MyEd account

Create a new password

At the Alumni WiFi registration page you will be asked to create a new password for accessing the WiFi network. Once registered, you will be able to use your username and new password to connect to the secure WiFi network. The secure network is called eduroam.

Please note: University of Edinburgh alumni are not entitled to use the eduroam service at other institutions and do not have access to VPN (Virtual Private Network).
