Name Robyn Hardage Degree Course LLB Year of Graduation 2009 Image Your time at the University My two and a half years in Edinburgh were absolutely unforgettable. I made some lifelong friendships and was able to experience living abroad in a wonderful city. I chose the University of Edinburgh in the first place because of its reputation and location. Leaving the city was really difficult as I felt that I made a home there. Tell us about your Experiences since leaving the University After leaving Edinburgh, I returned to Ottawa and started a job with the Department of Justice. I worked full time while also studying for my accreditation exams, and I am looking to continue working within the legislative and regulatory environment as a policy analyst Somewhere along the way I took up distance running and competing in triathlons. Endurance sports are my true passion and I work so that I can play. The past two years have proved to be quite successful in terms of my results in both marathons and triathlons. I think a lot of students get caught up in looking ahead at where they want to be and forget about being in the moment. Robyn Hardage I have a number of wins at the Olympic distance and two age-group wins in the Ironman distance. I competed at the Ironman World Championships in Kona Hawaii this past October where I came in as the top Canadian female and ended the year ranked 13th in my age group worldwide. This year, along with making a career move, I am hoping to keep pushing my limits and get another competitive triathlon season under my belt. Alumni wisdom I think a lot of students get caught up in looking ahead at where they want to be and forget about being in the moment. You only get to be where you are once in your lifetime, so my advice is to be in every moment while you can - good or bad. You will look back and thank yourself for not wishing your time away.
