Shaping the future: Edinburgh’s role in the AI revolution | 17 March

In time, Artificial Intelligence (AI) will affect us all, and this event aims to explore what might be in store now and in the future.

Professor Sir Peter Mathieson, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh will kick off the evening by sharing the latest news from Edinburgh and our ambitious agenda for delivering tomorrow’s world through our research and teaching power in AI

You will then hear from a panel of our world-leading academics, including:

  • Professor Shannon Vallor, Chair in the Ethics of Data and AI and Director of the Centre for Technomoral Futures at the Edinburgh Futures Institute.
  • Professor Subramanian Ramamoorthy, Chair of Robot Learning and Autonomy and UKRI Turing AI World-Leading Researcher Fellow in the School of Informatics.
  • Professor Kenneth Baillie, Personal Chair of Experimental Medicine and a Consultant in critical care medicine at the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh.

A reception will follow the panel discussion, and you will have the chance to connect with a range of University representatives, while networking with fellow alumni and supporters over drinks and canapés.

This is part of a series of events taking place in London designed to bring the wealth of activities at Edinburgh to our alumni in London and the South East.
