About the Alumni Portal

This online facility enables all former students to keep contact details, employment information and communications preferences up to date, as well as providing access to a variety of digital resources including JSTOR, a library of academic journals.

Keeping contact information up to date allows the University to keep you informed about events, people, and a variety of opportunities to work with current students and staff on projects and initiatives that match your interests and passions beyond graduation. By sharing employment information, you allow the University to better understand your professional expertise and interests and, more broadly, the composition of our wider university community.

This replaces the previous version of the portal accessed via MyEd but is still securely accessed using your unique university ID and password.

 

How to login to update your details and access resources

You can use Your University Login to access the Alumni Portal. This gives you access to update your details, access your official documents, and access JSTOR Online Journals: 

Please note: if you are already logged in using a staff account, you will need to logout, restart your browser and login again with your alumni account in order to access the features of the Alumni Portal. Alternatively, you can login using a different browser. If you do not know your login details, please refer to the FAQs below.

Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)

University of Edinburgh graduates from 2012 onwards can view and send their HEAR electronically via the Alumni Portal. Your recipient will receive an email containing a secure link they can use to download your transcript. 

Academic Statement Your Academic Statement will confirm the title of your degree, year of graduation and class of Honours (if applicable).

JSTOR Online Journals

JSTOR is a rich archive of scholarly journals, covering a wide range of disciplines.

The University of Edinburgh has license agreements for selected archival content and has made this available to alumni.

You can access the online journals through the Alumni Portal using Your University Login:

FAQs

The first screen that you will see is the one pictured. This is the secure login page for the University. Enter your username and continue. Then enter your password and you will be taken to the Alumni Portal.

Once you are logged in, you will be presented with a personalised secure website showing the contact information that the University currently holds that you can update yourself.

If you don't already have login details or if you graduated before 2003 then you will need to set up a new account. This is a straightforward process that we strongly encourage as it will ensure that we are able to keep you informed about new benefits and services that you are entitled to.

Please contact IS Helpline with the following information, and we will reply with Your University Login.

Alumni who have completed and conferred an award that is not from a non-graduating or Life Long learning programme will be able to access their academic statement via the alumni portal.

The HEAR report is only accessible to alumni who completed their programme after 1 June 2012, and conferred an award that is not from a non-graduating, intercalating, Life Long Learning (LLL) or English Language Teaching Centre (ELTC) programme. If you do not see your official documents in your alumni portal record, please contact the Student Info Point further assistance at infopoint@ed.ac.uk.
