Women of Colour Scotland and their community partner Edinburgh Film Society are hosting a screening of Hero followed by a Q&A with the producer at 6.00pm on Friday 18 October 2019 at the Cameo Picturehouse in Edinburgh. About the film Hero is inspired by the extraordinary life and times of Mr Ulric Cross who left the small island of Trinidad and became the RAF's most decorated West Indian. He later joined the Pan-African movement in the 1950s and 60s. A war hero, judge and diplomat, Ulric Cross's life spanned key moments of the 20th century. This movie not only promotes the life of an extraordinary man, but was produced and directed by Frances-Anne Solomon a woman of colour. Hero received rave reviews from attendees following its screenings across London in June.
