Hurdler Eilidh Child, a physical education graduate and recent inductee into the University’s Sports Hall of Fame, will lead us into the frae as captain of Team Scotland at the Games.

In it to win it

43 students, staff and graduates will be involved in Glasgow, nearly double the number associated with the Delhi 2010 Games, and the University hopes to be represented in 11 of the 17 featured disciplines, including swimming, squash, athletics and hockey.

Your chance to win a piece of history

To celebrate the University’s part in the Games, we have have a treat for Scottish swimming fans.

Predict how many medals Team Edinburgh (staff, students and alumni) will win during the Games and win a framed alumni bag that has been signed by our nine competing Commonwealth swimmers, some of whom are current, and hopefully future, Olympians.

How to enter

Email your medal count to us by 5pm on Friday 25 July and we will announce the winner shortly after the final event (Squash Mixed Doubles) on Sunday 3 August.

In the case of a tie there will be a draw for a winner from the correctly predicted entries.
