Edinburgh in India

This February the University of Edinburgh, led by the Principal, Professor Sir Timothy O’Shea, will deliver a series of events across India aimed at building partnerships and deepening collaborations.

These activities, both geographically and academically diverse, are designed to encourage students, staff, alumni and partners to come together and develop an even greater level of engagement for the University with India.

As part of this showcase, we are delighted to invite you to join us for events in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.

Mumbai - Sunday 14 February

Event: Introduction to Lifi with Professor Harold Haas

Details: Professor Harald Haas will discuss his pioneering Li-Fi technology. Transmitting data through LED signals, Li-Fi offers a safer and faster transfer of data than conventional Wi-Fi and provides 10,000 times more capacity. Professor Haas will talk about this ground-breaking technology and deliver a demonstration.

Event: ‘Accelerating the Clean Energy Revolution in India’ with Dr Andy Kerr

Details: Dr Andy Kerr, Director of the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, will deliver a talk on Accelerating the Clean Energy Revolution in India. Prior to joining the University of Edinburgh, Dr Kerr worked in the private sector in the emerging international carbon and biofuels markets, working with companies and organisations to develop strategic and practical management responses to emerging opportunities and legislation.
