Upon graduating from the University of Edinburgh she started her career as a reporter for Radio Forth before joining the BBC. Having grown up in Edinburgh and attended Balerno High School, Laura completed her MA in American Studies at the University of Edinburgh followed by a PG Diploma in Journalism Studies at the University of Strathclyde. In her spare time, she and her three children enjoy taking their cockapoo Frankie for walks. Trilingual in English, Finnish and Thai, she is currently working towards her degree in Biological Sciences. Alongside her studies, Nicha is particularly interested in science and communicating it in an accessible way. She also has a small collection of Moomin mugs.
