Nominations

Tips for submitting a nomination and access to the nominations form.

Please note: nominations for 2025 are now closed. We will announce the shortlist and information on how to vote for your winner very soon.

All University of Edinburgh students, staff and alumni are eligible to nominate alumni for the award.

Tips for submitting a strong application

  • Read the award criteria closely and reference them in your application. The criteria are what the longlisting and shortlisting panels will be reviewing applications against.
  • Provide specific examples and evidence of how the nominee meets these criteria.
  • You can provide links to supporting materials to demonstrate the work and impact of your nominee, such as press coverage, biographies, interviews.
  • Impact: When writing your application, consider not just what your nominee did, but why it matters
  • Write for a general audience – avoid jargon and acronyms and provide context where needed to ensure that members of the long and shortlisting panels can understand the content.
  • Be sure to keep your application under the limit of 500 words.
